A Long Weekend in Park City

A Long Weekend in Park City

A Long Weekend in Park City

Park City, Utah has become my favorite destination for Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend. Last year, I had the most amazing long weekend with my mom and sister, where we spent the weekend shopping, dining, discovering cozy lodges and maybe one too many afternoons at the No-Name Saloon. Surprisingly, we didn't even hit the slopes, yet all had the best time simply spending a few days in the snow.

However, this year was an entirely different story as I planed a last minute ski trip with my boyfriend. We originally had a road trip up the California Coast planned but the rain put a wrench in that plan. Tuesday afternoon we decided to book flights to Utah for that Friday. We bought our flights on Breeze airways which were surprisingly inexpensive and flew into Provo airport which I would do again as it was so small and easy. It had been nearly two decades since I last skied, and let me tell you, I instantly remembered what I had been missing out on all these years! The fresh snow might have helped as well. We skied both Park City and Canyons which were really fun and hope to ski Deer Valley the next time we visit!

So, if you ever find yourself in Park City, whether you ski/snowboard or simply enjoy the après ski life, there will be plenty for you to do. Make sure to explore the charming shops and restaurants along Main Street and of course, don't miss out on the incredible slopes and après ski scene at both Park City and Deer Valley Resort.

Below I've listed some of my favorite recommendations so you can plan your dream trip to Park City and experience it for yourself!

(Park City Mountain)

Skiing Park City Mountain was great because there's a nice lodge and few restaurants at the base. There's also a lift that will take you into town one block over from Main Street. A great pizza place called Davanza's is perfect for a late lunch right near the town lift.

One of our favorite spots for dinner is called Cafe Terigo. Amazing espresso martini and charcuterie board after a long day of skiing!

High West Distillery is a really cool restaurant right in town with a great outdoor bar set up to have a drink before your dinner reservation. (Recommend making reservations here as it is a popular spot)

Drinks at High West Distillery.

No Name Saloon. We were here right before Sundance Film Festival so people were extra dressed up in their furs and hats.

Worth taking a peak inside the Burns Cowboy Shop. If you're looking to splurge on something special you can make a custom hat here!

An interior designers dream here at Gorsuch. A beautiful shop full of homewares and luxury winter and ski clothing.

"Located in Empire Village, directly behind the resort with direct access to Ruby, Empire and Lady Morgan ski lifts, The Après Lounge makes for a true skiers’ delight". The Veuve Yurt at the Montage Hotel in Deer Valley was a fun experience! We brought a deck of cards and enjoyed sparkling rose and popcorn to their awesome playlists. Definitely one of the pricier activities in the Park City/Deer Valley area but we had a lot of fun.

The Stein Erickson Hotel is worth a stop for brunch at their restaurant Glitretind even if you aren't skiing Deer Valley. They have these private tables called "Alpenglobes" you can reserve outside which would be fun to do with a group of people! It was just two of us so we ate inside and it was perfect.

Chai Latte and Coffee inside the Stein Erickson Lodge.

Bar inside the old side of the Goldener Hirsch, Auberge Resort, in Deer Valley. The new side of the resort has a really cute coffee shop.

Plenty of Adirondack chairs outside on what they call the "Ski Beach" at Deer Valley. Was fun to sit out there on a sunny day and watch the skiers come in.
